Scene on the run: 28 November 2020 to 4 December 2020

It has been a while since I last posted a scene on the run update. In fact the last one was in July before the strange, shortened 2020 race season. Well, I'm back into a training routine now, I'm slowly logging up the winter miles, and I've been taking my camera long with me on some runs.

This winter started quite gently with a gradual cooling down which seemed easier than abrupt change. Despite the snow in October, I was still running in shorts until just a couple of weeks ago. Now it's down to 0C most days and there is snow and ice on the roads. Winter has truly set in and with it I've settled into my winter routine. I like this period of the year because there is no pressure of upcoming races so my training can progress at a natural and gentle pace.

Winter miles make summer smiles!

Saturday 28/11 -- a long run up into the mountains to climb above the clouds.
Saturday 28/11 -- the snow and frost lingered in the shadows all day.
Saturday 28/11 -- a happy winter run as most trails were still accessible.
Saturday 28/11 -- neverending mountain playground!
Tuesday 01/12 -- we woke up to snow. The sheep didn't seem to mind at all.
Tuesday 01/12 -- down in the valley to Chatel St Denis the wind was blowing and it was cold...
Wednesday 02/12 -- a sunny run after yesterday's snow. There's still snow above about 800m.
